Elysees Hotel was built on an idea the large chains find hard to execute: that a hotel can be polished and personal at once. Inspired by Parisian elegance and run with the warmth of a family business, the house offers 78 individually styled rooms — no two alike, each furnished like the apartment of a well-traveled friend — a brasserie recommended by the Michelin guide, and a rooftop terrace above the city's most coveted avenues.

Guests rate us 9.4/10 on Booking.com across thousands of stays, but the metric the family watches is different: the share of guests who return within two years. It is high, and it is the whole point.

The stay

The family behind it

Three generations currently share the running of the house, and the second floor still holds the apartment where the founder lived while repainting the lobby between seasons.
